Lab Director: Dr. Suman Chakravorty, Professor (Dept. of Aerospace Engineering, Texas A&M University)
Email: schakrav[at]tamu[dot]edu
Bio: I completed my B.Tech from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, in Mechanical Engineering, in 1997, and my PhD in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in 2004. I was an Assistant Professor at A&M from August 2004 – September 2010, and have been in my current position since then. My research focuses on ameliorating the triple curses of NONLINEARITY, DIMENSIONALITY and UNCERTAINTY in estimation and control problems, with applications to Mobile Robotics, Morphing Aircraft and Distributed Parameter Systems. In this website, you will find information about my research group’s work, along with our publications and other news. Thank you for showing interest in our research work and please feel free to contact us if you have any questions about our research.

I’m a graduate student pursuing a doctoral degree in the department of Aerospace Engineering at Texas A&M. My primary research work is on Stochastic Optimal Control. Other interests include Distributed State Estimation, Radar reconstruction, and developing robust solutions for indoor autonomy. I received my bachelor’s in Instrumentation and Control engineering from NIT Trichy, India.
Aayushman Sharma, Email: aayushmansharma[at]tamu[dot]edu
I received my Master’s and Bachelor’s in Aerospace Engineering from IIT Kharagpur. Currently working on applying reinforcement learning on distributed parameter systems or systems governed by partial differential equations.
Ishan Paranjape, Email: ishan.paranjape[at]tamu[dot]edu
Howdy! I am pursuing my PhD in Aerospace Engineering. My research broadly involves sensor scheduling and space situational awareness. Additional research interests include stochastic systems and reinforcement learning. I earned my BS in Aerospace Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin (Hook ’em Horns!), where I had the opportunity to conduct research in various aerospace and electrical engineering topics such as remote sensing and system identification. I additionally have two years of experience doing research in digital signal processing and FPGA-based digital system design for optomechanical and interferometric systems. Outside of research, my hobbies include cartography, making puns, and cooking.
